The story happens in the backdrop of Mahatma Gandhi University Youth Festival. Goutham is the union chairman of Maharaja's college who is desperate to regain their title and the current champions is St. Teresa college.
It's hard to follow Abrid's thoughts and the ending was beyond my imagination. The unconventional narrative style makes Abrid's movie special and this time also he choose a different path. Each frame creates nostalgia and the energy it passes on makes you excited from the beginning. Songs, poems, dance, preparations and all tiny things favors the ambience of the movie. Kalidas speeches were very good and felt like less space given to him by the director to show his calibration. There's quite a bit happening out there and few untold stories too. If you participated in youth festivals, it's a compelling story to watch. Overall, Poomaram is rich in many aspects and it reminds me of my college days.
Verdict : Good
